Rideshare Tax Returns

TAP keeps your rideshare taxes up to date – and compliant

IF YOU DRIVE FOR UBER, DIDI, OLA OR ANY OTHER RIDESHARE OPERATOR, MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND YOUR RIDESHARE TAX AND REPORTING OBLIGATIONS.

3 Quick tips about rideshare tax.
  • 1. The ATO considers all income from share economy work as assessable income, so your rideshare earnings need to be declared on your tax return.
  • 2. As a rideshare driver you need an Australian Business Number (ABN) and must be GST registered. You need to do this right at the start, before you pay any money out, or start rideshare activities.
  • 3. You should lodge a Business Activity Statement (BAS) every quarter to report your rideshare activity.
The good news is, we can help you with all 3!

At TAP, we make sure your registrations, tax and reporting are all looked after. From initial set up to lodging your rideshare tax return and BAS each year.

NOTE: The ATO have rulings in place that require all share economy operators in Australia to share their user data. So, whether you drive for Uber, Didi, Ola, GoCatch or any other rideshare operator, the ATO knows about it.
